Notice how Leah changes in verse 35 - Her focus goes from Horizontal to Vertical

POINT 2 - THE WAYS OF GOD: GIVE IN TO GOD Genesis 32:24-30

How do we know what our expectations are?

Look at how we complain - Complaints reveal our unmet expectations.

Jacob had expectations for God and so do we.

Align your expectations with what God's Word actually teaches

Align your expectations with what God's Word actually teaches

Align your expectations with what God's Word actually teaches

We are giving in to God and living life His way when our expectations line up with His Word

POINT 3 - THE WAYS OF GOD: RECONCILIATION/FORGIVENESS Genesis 33:1-8

Remember the context! Jacob is afraid of Esau.

Verse 4 should remind us of the parable of the Prodigal Son.

We are all just like Jacob! Our lives so full of sin, selfishness and manipulation and deceit, All of our sin is ultimately against God, but He by His extravagant grace has forgiven us in Jesus Christ!

Just like Esau showing mercy to Jacob, God shows mercy to you and me!
